Privacy Survey

Okay, I had a lively discussion with a friend of mine who does not have children. We discussed whether or not it was appropriate to show your child's room to visitors. The issue came up because another friend had given a tour of her house to a mutual friend (not the one I had the discussion with); and, during the tour, she showed the individual her adult daughter's not so clean room. As a matter of fact, the condition of the room was just down right embarrassing. Her daughter was out of the country, and left the room in total disarray.

I personally believe that the friend who showed her daughter's room was wrong. To me, there is a privacy issue involved here. Most parents that I know would say this is my daughter's room, and just walk by. I really don't know anyone who would show their child's room off without the child's permission -- especially if they are over 10 years old. My friend with whom I was discussing this, on the other hand, feels that most parents would have no problem showing off their children's rooms. So, I have decided to do a survey.

I would like to know how many parents out there would show off thier children's rooms after they reach a certain age. Just drop me a note to let me know what you think. Even if you do not have children, your comments are welcome.

I think not. Even parents knock on their doors before opening. We should respect their privacy.
